Legal Associate

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Associate. The Legal Associate will be responsible for, amongst others, preparing legal documents, analysing legal issues, conducting legal research and communicating legal information to clients. The Legal Associate will work with the lead lawyer(s) or Partner(s).

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft and review legal documents.
  • Analyse legal issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Conduct thorough legal research.
  • Communicate legal information clearly to clients.
  • Collaborate with lead lawyer(s) or Partner(s) on various cases.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience (PQE) in litigation matters.
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.40 or 2nd Upper-Class (2:1) for LLB.
  • Prior experience (or interest) in construction and/or corporate litigation is preferred.
  • Able to work independently as well as with a team, meticulous, diligent, have a good working attitude, have a keen eye for details and an interest in working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Possesses good drafting and research skills.
  • Strong command of both English and Malay (both spoken and written).
  • Being proficient in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of law and legal documentation processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Experience in handling legal issues and providing legal advice.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor of Law degree or equivalent.
Pupil
  • Able to work independently as well as with a team, meticulous, diligent, resourceful, have a good working attitude, have a keen eye for details and an interest in working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Possesses good drafting and research skills.
  • Strong command of both English and Malay (both spoken and written).
  • Being proficient in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
Legal Secretary

Our requirements:

  • Must have some experience in managing the administration of a law firm
  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous and able to work independently under pressure with minimum supervision

The job scope would include the following:

  • Providing and assisting Partners/Lawyers in office administrative matters
  • Working closely to assist Partners/Lawyers in handling all file related matters as instructed
  • Maintaining proper records/filing of correspondences and documents which include but not limited to letters, fax distribution, documents and etc. draft documents
  • Assisting Partners/Lawyers in handling invoices, inquiries, documentations, quotations, and payment vouchers, including updating into Firm's system the status of billings and etc.
  • Performing administrative tasks including answering phone calls, greeting clients/guests, maintaining and organising legal files, daily photocopying, compiling and organising correspondences/documents into clients' folders diligently
  • Facilitating, making arrangement and liaising with despatch riders for delivery and service of documents
  • Conducting company, insolvency and any other searches assigned
  • Keen eye on details, proactively reminding Lawyers on approaching deadlines way ahead of the actual date (filing of documents, trial dates, submissions due dates, case management dates)
  • Updating and managing the Firm's diary/calendar
  • Handling and be able to multi-task and handle any other ad-hoc administrative jobs
